The law no. 1.456 establishes an Environmental Code for Monaco in order to sustainably manage and protect the environment against all forms of pollution, contribute to climate change mitigation efforts and energy transition, and other environmental and health related purposes.

The Government of Morocco's environmental programs include the National Municipal Solid Waste Management, National Sanitation and Wastewater Treatment, Collection and Disposal of Plastic Bags, Environmental Upgrading of Rural Schools, and Prevention of and Fight against Industrial Pollution

Monaco will take part in efforts to stabilise the global warming of the planet by reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 30% in 2020 and 80% in 2050 (by which time the Principality will be carbon neutral) with respect to the reference date of 1990.
