The Principality of Monaco has undertaken a number of conservation efforts to protect its local environment and biodiversity. One of the most notable efforts is the creation of the Marine Protected Area of the Principality of Monaco, which covers approximately 1.5 square kilometers of coastal waters. The area is home to a diverse array of marine life, including dolphins, monk seals, and more than 200 species of fish. In addition to the Marine Protected Area, Monaco has also implemented a number of other conservation initiatives, such as restoring and protecting wetlands, planting native vegetation, and limiting the use of pesticides and herbicides.
